Obrafour also known in real as Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko is a Ghanaian hiplife musician and rapper born in 1976 born at Obo Kwahu to Mrs. Gladys Agyapomaa and Mr. Kwaku Okyere Darko. He had his basic education at New Star Preparatory School and proceeded to Abetifi Secondary before getting into St. Peter's Boys Senior High School in 1995 but dropped out after the demise of his mother.

 His musical journey started at a very tender age when he started singing with his mom who was a chorister in church. He had a positive influence in music since then so he formed a quartet when he was in secondary school to do gospel songs. After Reggie Rockstone, the Godfather of hiplife, released his Maka Makaa album, Obrafour inspired and influenced. He had also realized the emergence of artistes like Ex Doe, Chicago, Akyeame, and Lord Kenya, etc., He then decided to take music more seriously so he started attending auditions and performance sessions where he met Edward Nana Poku Osei aka Hammer an amateur beat maker by then facilitated a deal between Obrafour and Abraham Ohene Djan (OM Studios) and ‘Pae Mu Ka’, a game changing debut album was released successfully in 1999. Obrafour has a unique style of Twi rapping and storytelling.

'Pae mu ka' was a masterpiece which included hits like ‘Yaanom’, ‘Aden’, ‘Agoro no Aso’,and ‘Kokonsa’. 'Kwame Nkrumah' another hit song on the album paid a resounding tribute t the Osagyefo and encouraged Ghanaians to unite and work for the best of the country. He won both best rapper and new artiste of the year in the year 2000 at Ghana Music Awards. His hit song "Pae mu ka" won Hiplife song of the Year in the same year. He then gained the title ‘Rap Executioner’ and ‘Rap Sofo’.

In 2001, Obrafour released his second album, 'Asem Sebe' another mind blower. This album had the first ever rap gospel song (Enye Nyame a) in Ghana which gave a lot of deejays headaches because they were not sure whether to play the song during gospel or hiplife or even highlife shows. Other songs like 'Obibini', 'Okwantuni', 'Who born you by mistake', 'Asem sebe', 'Twe wo ho', 'Odo', 'Bra be hwe' and 'Okukuseku' enjoyed massive airplay.

Obrafour released a single album titled ‘Maame’  a song to celebrate his mother and all mothers in 2002. The album also contained a commercial he did with Tic Tac for Ashfoam which was very successful.  He dropped  'Time Out For Adhesion’ (TOFA) album in 2003 which contains chart topping songs like 'Dee dee ko',  ‘Sete’  ‘Oye Ohene’,  ‘Adefoode’, and ‘Ebehyehyew’. This album also had successful sales as the previous albums.

 In the same calendar year, the Rap Executioner dropped another captivating album titled ‘Nte Tee Pa’ being his fourth LP.  The hit song on that album was  'Nya Ntete Pa' in 2003 won the best original song (lyrics) at the 2003 Ghana Music Awards and  the album of the year at the Ghana Music Awards UK for 2004. The album also contain songs like 'Oye Ohene Remix featuring Tinny, 'Who Jah Bless', 'Sete remix', 'Monfa nsa', and 'Obaa bi'.

In 2004, Obrafour decided to use his record label, Execution Entertainment (which had been responsible for his last three albums) to expose new talents on Ghana's music scene. He produced 'Execution Diary' with the help of Hammer which was the first major compilation album involving hiplife artistes by another hiplife artiste. The LP had songs which introduced relatively new hiplife foot soldiers like Kwaw Kese, Hot Core, Dogo and further enhanced the careers of Tinny. There was also Okyeame Quame with, 4x4 and Yoggi Doggi.

Rap Sofo  released  Asem Beba Dabi, (2006) followed by other hit songs like , Kasiebo, Still Strong, Love Anthem, Adom Bi, among others. He has also featured on a number of artistes' tracks, including Tic Tac's Philomina, Daasebre Dwamena's Kokooko remix and Nana Quame's Alimatu. He has also helped bring into the limelight Tinny, Dogo, just to mention a few.

In 2007, his album 'Heavy' won him three awards including Hiplife Song, Music Video of the Year, and Hiplife Artist of the Year.On November 9, 2019 he commemorated the 20th anniversary of the album at the 'Pae Mu Ka' concert at the Accra Intentional Conference Centre.

Obrafour has performed in Europe as well as the US. His concerts and performances are bespoke.  He is still active in music and his influence in Ghana music is remarkable.
